About Chesscape Room

Chesscape Room is a chess variant where you race to escape through a door with your king while your opponent hunts you down. Outrun and outsmart opponents trying to trap you across irregular boards, holes, and chokepoints. In Chesscape Room, the King is not just a piece to defend. It is your runner. You win by reaching a door with your King while your opponent tries to cut you off and hunt you down. Instead of memorizing openings, you will be reading space and timing: when to race, when to block, when to trade, and when a single tempo decides everything. Play through handcrafted official campaigns and standalone puzzles built to teach specific ideas and challenge your skill. You will learn how to race versus blockade, how to force an opponent onto a bad route, how to recognize door traps and decoys, and how to keep your King safe while still making progress toward escape. When you want pure competition, play how chess is meant to be played: against humans. Chesscape Room supports local versus for tense couch matches, online multiplayer, and ranked play with ratings so you can track improvement over time and measure how well your escape and blocking instincts hold up.
